We have developed a new HIIT concept at The Foundry perfect for the busy professional. Designed for small groups of up to 5 people these 45 minute high intensity sessions are great way of burning fat and getting your workout done in the morning or during your lunch hour.   • Fat Burning 

Due to the intensity HIIT is the most efficient way of burning fat. Many of our members have been known to burn excess of 500 calories in one of our HIIT sessions which is a much as they would normal burn in over an hour training on their own. It doesn't stop there! HIIT has also been scientifically proven to increase your resting metabolism for several hours post workout, meaning you continues to burn calories when you’re back at your desk!

  • Efficiency 

HIIT (high intensity interval training) rather than spend an hour plus in the gym HIIIT involves pushing your heart rate up in short high intensity bursts through both cardio and weight training. These all out efforts (up to 90% maximum heart rate) can’t be maintained for long periods but are a great way of burning fat. You can get a lot more done in a shorter amount of time compared to the average 60 minute gym workout which is 60-70% of maximum heart rate. 

 

What to expect 

We have set out to create a fun and challenging environment for our members to work out with friends, colleagues or even make new friends training together in a group of up to 5 people. These 40 minute high intensity sessions are geared towards burning fat, Expect a medley of dumbbells, kettlebells sandbags and battle ropes! Sessions begin with a warm up including mobility drills to get you geared up for the hard work to come. The bulk of your work will be during the 25 min HIIT session including 15-30 second short burst of maximal efforts! Expect to be pushed out of your comfort zone, sweat and burn calories. We like to include some time at the end of the session to focus on recovery with relaxing breathing drills, stretching and also a protein shake for you to take back to the office.
